One of the best criminalists I have known was painter, not a scientist. He had a unique way of stripping an image to layers in his head that I was not able to duplicate. So in the summer of 2010, I decided to take a more practical approach to learning this skill and teach myself through painting. Study scenes from the shadow and form forward; adding color and definition with each additional layer until the final image is created. What you see below are some of the results of this exercise. Because I have had some requests for copies, prints of some of the paintings are available. If you are interested in purchasing one that isn't listed for sale please contact me via the "contact us" page.
